Dumpable weight pockets are much more comfortable than wearing a weight belt. A weight belt places the weight in the small of your back, whereas these dumpable weight pockets transfer the weight to the backplate (or Stealth harness), allowing the wing to lift the weight instead of your back.

Two pockets are contained in each pack, and attaching hardware is included. Select from the following pocket sizes:

Small - 2 pockets, 2kg each - total 4kg (8.8 lbs), or
Medium - 2 pockets, 3 kg each - total 6kg (13.2 lbs), or
X-Large - 2 pockets, 6 kg each - total 12kg (26.4lbs).

With xDeep dumpable weight pockets, the lead is placed in an insert / inner pocket that is equipped with zipper a user-friendly handle for easy carrying and safety. The weights are secured in the pocket by a heavy duty clip that is passed through the carry handle. You can simply take out the inner pockets, one at a time and pass them to the boat crew to make it easier to get on the boat, with less risk of dropping the weight. In the case of a diving emergency, squeeze the clips and allow the inner pockets to drop away freely.

The accidental loss of weight can cause problems when diving. The XDeep weight pockets are equipped with very strong and durable buckles from an American company, ITW NEXUS®, made of polyvinyl acetal – very durable material resistant to salt water.

Their durability and characteristic ‘click’ sound they make at fastening gives you the certainty that your weight is mounted safely. It is easy to drop the weight in an emergency because of the significant size of the buckle.

There is probably nothing worse than the unstable weight which moves while diving. The XDeep weight pockets are mounted on the waist strap of the harness and screwed onto the backplate. This ensures that nothing moves to the sides and the weight remains in its place, even when you turn over to the side, up or down.

In the front part of the pocket, there is a stiff strap with a pocket which is always open. It may seem unimportant but such a solution makes it a lot easier to put the weight in, especially when you have to do it under the water during training or when you are wearing thick gloves.

Installation

Each weight pockets comes with a dome headed hex bolt, locking nut and washers. XDeep backplates all have a hole in line with the waist band to be used to secure the weight pockets. The Stealth has a 'square D-ring' on each side of the waist band - in the middle of the plate for the D-ring is a hole for securing the weight pockets.

Thread the weight pockets onto the waist band and secure with the bolt through the eyelette. The dome head of the bolt should face the wing (not the nut).

Tools: you will need a 5mm hex key and 13mm spanner. That's all!

Safety

Lead weights are coated with lead oxide, which is classified as a carcinogenic compound that has a tendency to accumulate in the human body.

When you handle lead with bare hands, the particles of lead can stay on the surface of your skin and be absorbed. The inserts of xDeep pockets provide good protection against lead oxide while handling weights.
